Maryse Janelle has more than 20 years of experience as a tax lawyer. She is the leader of the Commodity Sales Tax practice at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Montréal office and serves as a technical advisor for Catallaxy, the Montréal-based blockchain expertise centre powered by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
Mrs Janelle also supervises detailed tax review assignments and the implementation of corporate commodity tax processes and control systems. She also participates in making representations with respect to refund applications or in the tax audit process to resolve clients’ problems favourably. Her practice includes representing international clients involved in various activities, such as IT and in the financial sector.
As a member of the Commodity Tax, Customs and Trade Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Mrs Janelle is regularly involved in consultations with the Department of Finance Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency. She is frequently invited by various professional associations to serve as guest speaker, author or instructor and, more recently, on specific blockchain-related speaking engagements:
