Catallaxy is participating in the production of the first white paper on distributed registries and blockchain in Quebec by contributing its blockchain technology expertise.
The first ever report is an initiative of the Institut de gouvernance numérique (IGN). With a steering committee composed of university representatives, entrepreneurs, lawyers and public bodies such as the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation du Québec, this project will serve to position Quebec in terms of these new, often called revolutionary, technologies and better understand their potential.
Catallaxy will contribute significantly to this paper, which is expected to be released in November 2019. The project is in its infancy, since the drafting process only began in early May.
Michel Besner, Catallaxy General Manager, said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the white paper and help stakeholders across Quebec get a better understanding of the potential and future impact of blockchain technology.”
The purpose of the white paper is to raise awareness of the issues for Quebec, demystify blockchain technology by highlighting its strengths and weaknesses and present different courses of action to develop this ecosystem.
